INTRODUCTION

  1. These Website Terms of Use (“Website Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website located at https://manja.my and any sub-domain, sub-page, mobile-optimised version, online channel, customer portal (including https://portal.manja.my) or support portal (including https://support.causewaylink.com.my) operated by us in connection with the Manja Services (collectively, the “Website”).
  2. The Website is owned and operated by Handal Indah Sdn. Bhd. (Company No. 287467-M) (“HISB”, “we”, “us” or “our”), a company incorporated and existing under the laws of Malaysia, with its registered/business address at No. 23, Jalan Firma 2, Kawasan Perindustrian Tebrau IV, 81100 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia.
  3. These Website Terms apply to all visitors and users of the Website (“you” or “your”), whether you are a registered Manja Account holder or not.
  4. These Website Terms must be read together with our Terms of Use for ManjaLink, ManjaPay and ManjaRewards (the “Product Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. In the event of any conflict between these Website Terms and the Product Terms in respect of the Manja Services, the Product Terms shall prevail.
  5. We may update these Website Terms from time to time. The version posted on the Website at the time you access or use the Website is the version that applies to your use.

DEFINITIONS

Capitalised terms used but not defined in these Website Terms shall have the meanings given to them in the Product Terms or the Privacy Policy. In addition, the following definitions apply:

“Content” means all information, data, text, software, music, sound, photographs, graphics, video, messages, tags, code or other materials made available on or through the Website.

“User Content” means any Content (including comments, feedback, suggestions, queries, photographs and other materials) submitted, posted, uploaded or otherwise made available by you on or through the Website.

“Third-Party Services” means any third-party websites, applications, platforms, services, plug-ins or content that may be linked to or integrated with the Website (including Google Maps, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Shopee and payment service providers). 

ACCESS AND USE OF THE WEBSITE

  1. Subject to your compliance with these Website Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Website for your personal, non-commercial use, and to view, download and print Content from the Website solely for that purpose.
  2. We do not guarantee that the Website will be available at all times, will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that defects will be corrected. We may suspend, restrict, modify or discontinue the Website (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice, including for maintenance, upgrades, security or any other reasonable operational reason.
  3. To access certain features of the Website (such as the Manja Portal), you may be required to register for a Manja Account and provide certain information. You are responsible for ensuring that all information you provide is true, accurate, current and complete and for keeping it updated.

ACCOUNT REGISTRATION AND SECURITY

  1. Where account registration is required, you must be at least eighteen (18) years of age (or, if below that age, have the consent and supervision of your parent or legal guardian).
  2. You are solely responsible for: (a) maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials, including username and password; (b) all activities that occur under your account; and (c) promptly notifying us via https://support.causewaylink.com.my of any actual or suspected unauthorised use of your account.
  3. We reserve the right to suspend, restrict or terminate your access to your account or the Website at any time, with or without notice, where we reasonably suspect any breach of these Website Terms or any unauthorised, unlawful or fraudulent activity.

PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES

You agree that you will NOT, and will not attempt to, do any of the following in connection with the Website:

  1. use the Website for any unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, malicious or unauthorised purpose, or in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
  2. use the Website to harass, abuse, threaten, defame, stalk or harm any person, or to post or transmit any content that is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, hateful, discriminatory, harassing, racist, threatening or otherwise objectionable;
  3. impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
  4. interfere with, disrupt, attempt to gain unauthorised access to, or otherwise compromise the security, integrity, availability or performance of the Website, its servers, networks or any system connected to them;
  5. use any robot, spider, scraper, crawler, data mining tool, automation tool or similar mechanism to access, copy or extract data from the Website, except for publicly available search engine indexing in accordance with our robots.txt file;
  6. introduce, transmit or upload any virus, worm, trojan, ransomware, spyware, malware, denial-of-service code or any other harmful, malicious or destructive code or material;
  7. reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, translate or create derivative works of any part of the Website or its underlying software, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law that cannot be excluded;
  8. remove, obscure or alter any copyright, trade mark or other proprietary notice on any Content;
  9. use the Website to send any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising, promotional materials, junk mail, spam, chain letters or other form of solicitation;
  10. collect, harvest or store any personal data of other users of the Website without their consent;
  11. frame, mirror or otherwise incorporate any part of the Website into any other website or service without our prior written consent; or
  12. use the Website in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden or impair the Website or interfere with any other party’s use and enjoyment of the Website.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

  1. The Website and all Content on it (including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio, video, photographs, software, designs, layouts, look and feel, code and compilations thereof) are owned by, or licensed to, the Service Providers and are protected by copyright, trade mark, database and other intellectual property rights under the laws of Malaysia and other jurisdictions.
  2. The names and logos “Manja”, “ManjaLink”, “ManjaPay”, “ManjaRewards”, “LUGO”, “Causeway Link”, “Handal Indah” and all related branding are trade marks or registered trade marks of HISB or its affiliates. You may not use any of these trade marks without our prior written consent.
  3. Except as expressly permitted under Clause 3.1 or by applicable law that cannot be excluded, you may not copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit, distribute, modify, translate, adapt, sell, license, rent or otherwise exploit any Content or any part of the Website without our prior written consent.

USER CONTENT

  1. You are solely responsible for any User Content you submit on or through the Website (including via contact forms, feedback channels, support tickets, comments on blog posts or social media features). You represent and warrant that: (a) you own or have all necessary rights, consents and permissions to submit such User Content; and (b) the User Content does not infringe any third-party rights and complies with these Website Terms and applicable law.
  2. You retain ownership of any User Content you submit. However, by submitting User Content, you grant the Service Providers a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, sub-licensable and transferable licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, display and otherwise exploit such User Content (in whole or in part, and in any format or media now known or later developed) for the purposes of operating, promoting and improving the Manja Services and the Website.
  3. We have the right (but not the obligation) to monitor, review, edit, refuse, remove or take down any User Content at any time, without notice and without liability, where we consider (acting reasonably) that such User Content breaches these Website Terms, infringes any third-party rights or is otherwise objectionable.

LINKS AND THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

  1. The Website may contain links to Third-Party Services (including websites, social media platforms, app stores and e-commerce platforms operated by third parties). Such links are provided for convenience only and do not constitute endorsement, sponsorship or recommendation by us of those Third-Party Services.
  2. We do not control, are not responsible for and do not warrant or guarantee the availability, content, privacy practices, security, accuracy or quality of any Third-Party Services. Your access to and use of any Third-Party Service is at your own risk and is subject to the terms and conditions and privacy policies of the relevant third party.
  3. You may not establish a hyperlink, frame or other link to the Website from any other website without our prior written consent. We reserve the right to require the removal of any link at any time.

COOKIES, ANALYTICS AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

  1. The Website uses cookies, web beacons, pixel tags and similar tracking technologies to collect information about your visit and improve your experience. Any information provided on the Website (including bus routes, schedules, fares, exchange rates, news, blog content, promotional information and FAQs) is provided for general information only and may be subject to change without notice. You should not rely solely on such information and should always verify operationally critical information with us or the relevant Authorised Agent before acting on it.
  3. You acknowledge that the Internet is not a fully secure environment, and we cannot guarantee that data transmitted to or from the Website will be free from interception, corruption, loss or unauthorised access. You should take appropriate precautions, including the use of up-to-date anti-virus software and secure networks.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

  1. Nothing in these Website Terms shall exclude or limit any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
  2. Subject to Clause 1, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service Providers and their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors and licensors shall not be liable to you for any loss, damage, cost, expense, claim or injury (whether direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary, and whether in contract, tort, statute or otherwise) arising out of or in connection with your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the Website, including any loss of profits, loss of business, loss of revenue, loss of goodwill, loss of data or loss of anticipated savings.
  3. Subject to Clauses 2 and 3, our maximum aggregate liability arising under or in connection with these Website Terms and your use of the Website shall not exceed RM500.00 in any twelve-month period.

INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Service Providers and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents from and against any and all losses, damages, costs, expenses, claims, demands, actions or proceedings (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your breach of these Website Terms; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of any applicable law or any third-party right; or (d) your misuse of the Website.

PRIVACY

Your privacy is important to us. Please refer to our Privacy Policy (available at https://manja.my/privacy-policy/) for information on how we collect, use, store, share and otherwise process your Personal Data in connection with your use of the Website and the Manja Services. By using the Website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.

SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION

  1. We may suspend, restrict or terminate your access to the Website (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice and without liability to you, including where: (a) we reasonably suspect any breach of these Website Terms; (b) we are required to do so by law, regulator or court order; (c) the Website is being operated or maintained; or (d) for any other reasonable operational or business reason.
  2. Upon termination, all rights granted to you under these Website Terms will cease and you must immediately discontinue use of the Website. Any provision of these Website Terms that is by its nature intended to survive termination shall continue in full force and effect.

AMENDMENTS

  1. We may amend these Website Terms from time to time. The amended version will be posted on the Website together with the new effective date. Where the amendment is material, we will use reasonable efforts to notify you (for example, by a notice on the Website or, where appropriate, by e-mail) before the amendment takes effect.
  2. Your continued access to or use of the Website after the effective date of any amendment constitutes acceptance of the amended Website Terms. If you do not accept the amended Website Terms, you must cease using the Website.

MISCELLANEOUS

  1. Severability: if any provision of these Website Terms is held to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed deleted to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
  2. No Waiver: no failure or delay by us in exercising any right or remedy under these Website Terms shall operate as a waiver of that or any other right or remedy.
  3. Assignment: you may not assign or transfer any of your rights or obligations under these Website Terms. We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations under these Website Terms to any of our affiliates or to any third party at any time without your consent.
  4. Entire Agreement: these Website Terms (together with the Product Terms and the Privacy Policy) constitute the entire agreement between you and us in relation to your use of the Website and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, representations and warranties relating to the same.
  5. Language: these Website Terms are made in English. If we provide a translation, the English version shall prevail in the event of any conflict.

GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION

These Website Terms and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. The parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia in respect of any dispute, claim or proceeding arising out of or in connection with these Website Terms or your use of the Website.

BY PURCHASING, REGISTERING FOR OR USING ANY MANJA SERVICE, YOU AGREE TO BE LEGALLY BOUND BY THESE TERMS. INTRODUCTION

 

  1. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern the access to and use of the ManjaLink stored value card (“ManjaLink” or “ManjaLink Card”), the ManjaPay mobile payment service (“ManjaPay”), the ManjaRewards loyalty and rebate programme (“ManjaRewards”) and any related services, applications, websites, portals, devices, kiosks, equipment and channels operated by us in connection with the foregoing (collectively, the “Manja Services”).
  2. The Manja Services are issued and operated by Handal Indah Sdn. Bhd. (Company No. 287467-M) (“HISB”), a company incorporated and existing under the laws of Malaysia, and (where applicable in respect of services provided in or relating to Singapore) ManjaLink Pte. Ltd. (Company Registration No. 201134172M) (“MPL”), a company incorporated and existing under the laws of Singapore. HISB and MPL are collectively referred to as the “Service Providers”, “we”, “us” or “our”.
  3. HISB operates public and cross-border bus transportation services between Malaysia and Singapore and within Malaysia (the “Bus Services”). The Manja Services are designed to facilitate cashless payment for the Bus Services and certain other goods and services made available by HISB, its affiliates, partners and Authorised Agents from time to time.
  4. These Terms supersede and replace the Conditions of Issue and Use of the ManjaLink Stored Value Card dated 25 January 2012 (as subsequently amended) (the “Previous Conditions”), to the extent they relate to the Manja Services covered herein. To the extent there is any conflict between these Terms and any Previous Conditions, these Terms shall prevail.
  5. Your purchase of any ManjaLink Card or ManjaLink Reload Card, your registration for a Manja account, your participation in ManjaRewards or your use of any Manja Service constitutes your acceptance of these Terms and any subsequent amendments to them. You should print or save a copy of these Terms for your records.
  6. If you are below the age of eighteen (18), you may use the Manja Services only with the consent and supervision of your parent or legal guardian, who shall be deemed to have accepted these Terms on your behalf and to be jointly and severally liable with you for your use of the Manja Services.
  7. These Terms must be read together with our Website Terms of Use and Privacy Policy (each available at https://manja.my), which form an integral part of these Terms.

 

DEFINITIONS AND INTERPRETATION

In these Terms, unless the context otherwise requires:

“Authorised Agent” means any agent, representative, sub-contractor, ticketing office, kiosk operator, retailer, vending machine, e-commerce platform or other party authorised by us in writing or by reasonable conduct to issue, sell, top-up, reload, distribute, accept payment for or otherwise provide services in relation to the Manja Services.

“Authorised Ticketing Office” means any counter, office, kiosk, vending machine or other physical or virtual outlet operated or authorised by HISB or MPL to provide the Manja Services, including the sale of the ManjaLink Card, the crediting of Travel Credits and the processing of refunds, at selected terminals and locations.

“Bus Services” has the meaning given in Clause 1.3.

“Card Cost” means the purchase price of a ManjaLink Card as determined by the Service Providers from time to time, exclusive of the value of any Travel Credits loaded onto the card.

“Card Holder” means any person to whom or on whose behalf a ManjaLink Card or ManjaLink Reload Card is sold or issued, or who is the registered or beneficial holder of such card.

“Confidential Information” means any information designated as confidential, or which would reasonably be considered to be confidential, including any login credentials, account information, transaction history and any non-public information relating to the Manja Services.

“Force Majeure Event” means any event beyond the reasonable control of the Service Providers, including acts of God, fire, flood, earthquake, pandemic or epidemic, war, riot, civil unrest, terrorist act, sabotage, governmental act or order, court order, strike, lockout, labour dispute, power or telecommunications failure, internet outage, cyber-attack, denial-of-service attack or system failure.

“Intellectual Property” means any and all intellectual property rights including patents, trade marks, service marks, trade names, copyrights, design rights, database rights, know-how, trade secrets and all other proprietary rights, whether registered or unregistered, and any applications for the same.

“LUGO App” means the LUGO mobile application made available by HISB (or its licensors) on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, through which Card Holders and Users may, among other things, manage their Manja accounts, top-up Travel Credits and access transit information.

“Manja Account” means a user account created and registered by you through the Manja Portal, the LUGO App or any other authorised channel, which allows you to access and manage one or more Manja Services.

“Manja Portal” means the customer self-service portal accessible at https://portal.manja.my (or such other URL as may be notified to you from time to time).

“Manja Service(s)” has the meaning given in Clause 1.1.

“ManjaLink Card” or “ManjaLink” means the contactless stored value card issued by the Service Providers under the “ManjaLink” brand, including any replacement, reissued or successor card.

“ManjaLink Reload Card” means a card or voucher containing a one-time activation code that entitles the user to add Travel Credits to a ManjaLink Card or ManjaPay Account in the value and via the methods specified on the card.

“ManjaPay Account” means a user account established under the ManjaPay service through which Travel Credits may be stored and used to pay for the Bus Services or other authorised transactions via mobile device.

“ManjaRewards Programme” means the loyalty, rebate and member privileges programme operated by the Service Providers, including the cashback tiers and member privileges described in Part C of these Terms.

“Personal Data” has the meaning given to it in the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Malaysia), as amended (including by the Personal Data Protection (Amendment) Act 2024), and any subsidiary legislation, codes of practice, guidelines and orders issued thereunder (collectively, the “PDPA”).

“Stored Value” means the balance of Travel Credits and (where applicable) rebate credits stored in a ManjaLink Card or ManjaPay Account at any point in time.

“Travel Credits” or “TCr” means the units of value, denominated in Ringgit Malaysia (RM), purchased by or at the request of a Card Holder or User and credited to a ManjaLink Card or ManjaPay Account, which may be used in exchange for Travel Tickets or other goods and services as authorised by the Service Providers.

“Travel Tickets” means the tickets, fares or rides obtained by a Card Holder or User in exchange for Travel Credits, for use on the Bus Services or other transport services accepted by the Service Providers.

“User” means any individual who registers for, accesses or uses any Manja Service, including Card Holders, ManjaPay Account holders and ManjaRewards members.

“Website” means https://manja.my and any other website operated by the Service Providers in connection with the Manja Services.

“you” or “your” means the individual using or registering for any Manja Service.

In these Terms, unless the context otherwise requires: (a) words in the singular include the plural and vice versa; (b) references to any statute or regulation include any amendment, replacement or re-enactment thereof; (c) headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation; (d) the words “including” and “include” mean “including without limitation”; and (e) references to “writing” or “written” include electronic communications, where lawful.

GENERAL TERMS APPLICABLE TO ALL MANJA SERVICES

Binding Acceptance

By purchasing, registering for or using any Manja Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Manja Services.

Eligibility

To register for a Manja Account, ManjaPay Account or ManjaRewards membership, you must be at least eighteen (18) years of age or, if below that age, have the consent and supervision of your parent or legal guardian. You represent and warrant that all information you provide to us is true, accurate, current and complete, and that you will keep such information updated.

“As is” and “As available”

The Manja Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Save as expressly provided in these Terms or as required by applicable law, the Service Providers make no warranties or representations, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement or uninterrupted operation.

Compliance

You agree at all times to: (a) comply with all notices, rules, procedures, instructions, guidelines and operating policies issued by the Service Providers in relation to the Manja Services from time to time, whether published on the Website, the LUGO App or otherwise; and (b) comply with all applicable laws and regulations relating to your use of the Manja Services, including the PDPA, the Financial Services Act 2013, the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 and (where applicable) the laws of Singapore.

No Tampering

You must not tamper with, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, copy, counterfeit or interfere with any ManjaLink Card, ManjaLink Reload Card, ManjaPay Account, the LUGO App, the Manja Portal, our equipment, or any data, software, security feature or component of the Manja Services. The Service Providers reserve the right not to honour transactions, refuse refunds and/or suspend or terminate your access to the Manja Services if any tampering, modification or interference is suspected or detected.

Authorised Use Only

The Manja Services are for personal, non-commercial use only, unless otherwise agreed in writing by us. You must not resell, sub-license, redistribute, transfer, assign or commercially exploit any Manja Service, any Travel Credits, any rebates or any other benefit under the ManjaRewards Programme, except as expressly permitted under these Terms.

Inspection and Verification

You agree that the Service Providers and any Authorised Agent may, acting reasonably and in compliance with applicable law, inspect your ManjaLink Card, ManjaPay Account, Manja Account or any related data (including balances, transaction history and identification information) at any time, including for fraud prevention, anti-money laundering, regulatory or operational reasons.

Availability and Service Interruption

We may, from time to time, suspend, restrict, modify, withdraw or discontinue any Manja Service (in whole or in part) for operational, security, regulatory, maintenance, upgrade or any other reasonable reason. Where reasonably practicable, we will give prior notice via the Website, the LUGO App or other channels, but we may act without notice in cases of urgency, fraud, security risk or where required by law.

Communications

You agree that we may contact you through any channel you have provided to us (including SMS, e-mail, push notifications, in-app messaging or postal mail) for purposes connected with the Manja Services, including service notifications, account alerts, security warnings and (subject to your consent or in accordance with applicable law) marketing communications. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by following the instructions in the relevant message or by contacting us.

PART A — MANJALINK CARD

OBTAINING AND USING YOUR MANJALINK CARD

  1. ManjaLink Cards may be obtained from any Authorised Ticketing Office, vending machine, authorised online channel or other Authorised Agent. At the time of purchase, the Authorised Agent is entitled to collect the Card Cost and may require you to purchase a minimum amount of Travel Credits as may be determined by the Service Providers from time to time.
  2. Each ManjaLink Card is, notwithstanding payment of the Card Cost, and remains at all times the property of the Service Providers. The Card Holder acquires only a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the card in accordance with these Terms.
  3. The ManjaLink Card allows the Card Holder to: (a) purchase, store and accumulate Travel Credits; (b) use Travel Credits to obtain Travel Tickets and pay for fares on the Bus Services and other services accepted by the Service Providers; and (c) accumulate rebates and member privileges under the ManjaRewards Programme in accordance with Part C of these Terms.
  4. You are advised to examine your ManjaLink Card, ManjaLink Reload Card and any change tendered immediately upon completion of any transaction at any Authorised Ticketing Office or other point of sale. The Service Providers and Authorised Agents shall not be liable for any error or omission not drawn to their attention at the time of the transaction or immediately thereafter.
  5. Your ManjaLink Card is valid at all times unless invalidated, suspended, cancelled or terminated under these Terms. The Service Providers or Authorised Agents may, acting reasonably, refuse to accept or honour the use of any ManjaLink Card where: (a) the card is suspected of being counterfeit, stolen, tampered with or issued or topped-up fraudulently; (b) the Stored Value was fraudulently or illegally credited or altered; or (c) the card is otherwise faulty, damaged or invalid.

ADDING VALUE (TOP-UP) AND TRAVEL CREDITS

  1. To use your ManjaLink Card to obtain Travel Tickets, you must purchase Travel Credits. Top-ups may be performed: (a) at any Authorised Ticketing Office; (b) via any vending machine or self-service kiosk operated or authorised by us; (c) by way of a ManjaLink Reload Card; (d) through the Manja Portal at https://portal.manja.my; (e) via the LUGO App; or (f) through any other channel as may be determined and notified by the Service Providers from time to time.
  2. Travel Credits are denominated in Ringgit Malaysia (RM). Travel Credits do not earn interest, are not redeemable for cash (except as expressly provided under the refund provisions of these Terms), and are not transferable between ManjaLink Cards, ManjaPay Accounts or other persons except as expressly authorised by us.
  3. The Service Providers may from time to time impose: (a) a minimum top-up amount; (b) a requirement that top-ups be in multiples of a specified amount; (c) maximum balance limits; and/or (d) fees, charges or processing times in connection with top-ups, which will be published on the Website or the LUGO App or otherwise notified to you.
  4. The Service Providers will not honour or recognise any Travel Credits or ManjaLink Reload Cards that were credited, sold or obtained other than through an Authorised Agent or through means authorised by the Service Providers, or which were obtained through any unlawful or fraudulent means. You should not purchase Travel Credits or ManjaLink Reload Cards from any agent, representative or person whom you suspect is not authorised.
  5. Any determination of the Stored Value by the Service Providers or Authorised Agents shall, save for manifest error, be final, conclusive and binding on the Card Holder.

MANJALINK ONLINE ACCOUNT AND LOGIN DETAILS

  1. Card Holders may register for a Manja Account through the Manja Portal or the LUGO App. Your login credentials (including username, password, PIN and any two-factor authentication elements) (“Login Details”) are personal to you and must not be shared with any third party.
  2. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Login Details and for all activities that occur under your Manja Account. You must notify us immediately via https://support.causewaylink.com.my (or any other channel notified to you) if you have any reason to believe that your Login Details have been compromised, lost or used in an unauthorised manner.
  3. We will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to keep your Login Details secure or from your failure to notify us promptly of any actual or suspected compromise. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to your Manja Account where we reasonably suspect unauthorised activity.

LOSS, THEFT AND DAMAGE OF MANJALINK CARDS

You shall take all reasonable precautions to safeguard your ManjaLink Card and any ManjaLink Reload Card against loss, theft, damage, copying, reverse-engineering, tampering and unauthorised use.

Loss or Theft of Card: (a) MPL, HISB and the Authorised Agents shall not be responsible for any loss of Stored Value arising from the loss, theft or misuse of a ManjaLink Card or ManjaLink Reload Card prior to your reporting of such loss through the official channels notified by us; (b) upon receipt of a valid loss report (which may require submission of identification and additional supporting information), we will use reasonable efforts to suspend the affected card within twenty-four (24) hours, save that you acknowledge that suspension is not immediate due to system and operational constraints across buses, kiosks and terminals; and (c) MPL, HISB and the Authorised Agents shall not be liable for any transaction or deduction made from the card during the period before suspension takes effect.

Faulty or Damaged Card: if your ManjaLink Card or ManjaLink Reload Card becomes faulty or damaged, you may bring the card to any Authorised Ticketing Office for inspection. Following inspection by us or an Authorised Agent:

  1. where the fault or damage is confirmed to have arisen through no fault or negligence on your part: (i) in respect of a ManjaLink Card, you will be issued a replacement ManjaLink Card and the remaining Stored Value will be transferred to the replacement card without any additional fee; or (ii) in respect of a ManjaLink Reload Card, you may be issued a replacement card of similar or equivalent value;
  2. where the fault or damage is determined (acting reasonably) to have been caused by your fault, negligence, misuse, mishandling, alteration or tampering, an administration and/or replacement fee of up to RM20.00 (inclusive of any applicable Sales and Service Tax) per card may be charged at our sole discretion, which fee shall be payable by you before the replacement card is issued or, at our option, deducted from the remaining Stored Value of the affected card. The Service Providers reserve the right to revise the amount of such fee from time to time on giving prior notice; and
  3. the Service Providers may, in their reasonable discretion, decline to issue a replacement card where the card has been so damaged, altered or tampered with that the Stored Value, card identifiers or other data cannot be reliably ascertained, in which case the provisions of Clause 3.5 and Clause 21 shall apply. 

You agree to co-operate with the Service Providers, Authorised Agents and (where appropriate) the police, regulators or other public authorities in the recovery of your ManjaLink Card if it is lost or stolen or where there are reasonable grounds to suspect suspicious or unlawful behaviour.

The Service Providers reserve the right to recover all direct and indirect costs, expenses, losses and damages suffered or incurred by them as a result of any alteration, tampering, fraudulent use or other misuse of a ManjaLink Card or ManjaLink Reload Card by you.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND

  1. You may cancel your ManjaLink Card at any time by submitting an online refund and cancellation request through the Manja Portal at https://portal.manja.my, the LUGO App, or any other channel notified by us.
  2. Subject to verification of your identity and entitlement, a refund of the remaining Stored Value will be processed where the remaining Stored Value is more than RM10.50.
  3. A handling fee of RM10.00 (inclusive of any applicable Sales and Service Tax) will be deducted from the Stored Value of your ManjaLink Card on cancellation. The Service Providers reserve the right to revise the handling fee from time to time on giving prior notice.
  4. The remaining Stored Value (after deduction of the handling fee and any other applicable charges) will be refunded and credited to your designated bank account or such other account notified to us, within approximately forty-five (45) working days from the date of the refund request being approved.
  5. We reserve the right to reject any cancellation or refund request if any information you provide is untrue, inaccurate, incomplete or cannot be verified, or if there is reasonable suspicion of fraud, money-laundering or other unlawful activity. If your request is rejected, you may resubmit another request, and the remaining Stored Value (after the handling fee is deducted) will be credited to your designated bank account within forty-five (45) working days from the date of the resubmission being approved.

DORMANT ACCOUNTS

A ManjaLink Card shall be deemed dormant (“Dormant”) if the Card Holder has not conducted any transaction, usage, top-up or refund claim on the card for a continuous period of twelve (12) months.

Upon a ManjaLink Card becoming Dormant:

  1. Balance of RM10.00 or below — where the remaining Stored Value is RM10.00 or below, the balance shall be fully deducted and zeroised as an administrative charge for the termination of the card;
  2. Balance exceeding RM10.00 — where the remaining Stored Value exceeds RM10.00, HISB reserves the right to impose a dormant fee of RM2.00 per month (the “Dormant Fee”), which shall be deducted from the remaining Stored Value until: (i) the balance is fully exhausted; or (ii) the Card Holder reactivates the card by conducting a transaction, usage, top-up or successful refund claim, whichever occurs first.

Any transaction, usage, top-up or refund claim by the Card Holder shall automatically reactivate the ManjaLink Card and suspend any further deduction of the Dormant Fee.

HISB reserves the right to amend the Dormant Fee and applicable thresholds, subject to prior notice to Card Holders in accordance with these Terms and applicable regulatory requirements.

PART B — MANJAPAY

ABOUT MANJAPAY

  1. ManjaPay is a secured cardless mobile payment service that enables Users to pay for the Bus Services (and other goods and services as may be made available by us) using a mobile phone or other compatible device through NFC tap-and-go or QR code-based methods. ManjaPay is currently available on selected services and routes and on such other services as may be notified by us from time to time.
  2. To use ManjaPay you must: (a) download the LUGO App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store; (b) connect to the “Manja” bot or follow such other registration procedure as may be required; (c) set up a ManjaPay Account; (d) top up Travel Credits to your ManjaPay Account; and (e) tap or scan your device on the ManjaPay sensor or QR code on board the bus when boarding and (where required) alighting.

ELIGIBILITY AND REGISTRATION

  1. To register for a ManjaPay Account, you must be at least eighteen (18) years of age (or have the consent and supervision of your parent or guardian) and must provide all information requested during registration, including your name, mobile number, e-mail address and other particulars necessary for identity verification, customer due diligence and anti-money-laundering compliance.
  2. We may, in our reasonable discretion, refuse registration, suspend or terminate any ManjaPay Account, or require additional verification or documentation, at any time and without giving reasons, including where we suspect fraud, money-laundering, unauthorised use, breach of these Terms or non-compliance with any applicable law.

HOW TO USE MANJAPAY

  1. ManjaPay payments may be made via either NFC mobile payment or QR code scanning, depending on the bus, route and device type. For NFC payments, you must tap your registered device on the ManjaPay sensor on boarding and (where required) alighting. For QR code payments, you must scan the boarding QR code on boarding and (where required) scan the alighting QR code on alighting.
  2. Tapping or scanning out on alighting may be mandatory or optional depending on the route and the operator. Where tapping/scanning out is required and you fail to do so, the maximum fare for the route may be deducted from your ManjaPay Account, and no refund or adjustment shall be due unless we, acting reasonably, agree otherwise.
  3. You are responsible for ensuring that your mobile device has sufficient battery, mobile data, internet connection, Bluetooth (where applicable) and NFC capability (where applicable) to complete a ManjaPay transaction. We are not responsible for any failed transaction caused by your device’s hardware, software, settings, network, operator or other matters outside our reasonable control.

TOPPING UP YOUR MANJAPAY ACCOUNT

  1. Top-ups to your ManjaPay Account may be made through the LUGO App, the Manja Portal, online banking, debit or credit card, e-wallet or such other channels as we may notify from time to time. The available payment channels may change without notice and may be subject to channel-specific fees, limits or processing times imposed by third-party providers (e.g., banks, payment processors).
  2. Travel Credits in a ManjaPay Account cannot be transferred to a ManjaLink Card or vice versa, except as expressly permitted by the Service Providers. Travel Credits are not refundable in cash except in accordance with the cancellation and refund provisions set out in these Terms or otherwise as required by law.

MANJAPAY ACCOUNT SECURITY

  1. You are solely responsible for the security of: (a) the mobile device on which the LUGO App is installed; (b) your Login Details, PIN, biometric authentication and any other security credentials; and (c) any token, OTP or activation code we send to you. You must not disable, circumvent or weaken any security feature of the LUGO App or your device.
  2. You must notify us immediately via https://support.causewaylink.com.my if your mobile device is lost or stolen, if you have reason to believe that your ManjaPay Account or Login Details have been compromised, or if you detect any unauthorised transaction in your ManjaPay Account. We will use reasonable efforts to suspend the affected account upon receipt of a valid notification, subject to operational constraints.
  3. We will not be liable for any loss arising from unauthorised use of your ManjaPay Account before we receive valid notification under Clause 14.2, except where the loss is directly attributable to our gross negligence, wilful misconduct or fraud.

CLOSURE AND REFUND OF MANJAPAY ACCOUNT

  1. You may close your ManjaPay Account at any time by submitting a request through the LUGO App, the Manja Portal or such other channel as we may notify. Any remaining Travel Credits will be refunded in accordance with our refund process, which may involve identity verification, deduction of a reasonable handling fee and a processing period of approximately forty-five (45) working days.
  2. We may suspend or close your ManjaPay Account, with or without notice, where: (a) we have reasonable grounds to suspect fraud, money-laundering, terrorism financing or other unlawful activity; (b) you have breached these Terms or any applicable law; (c) required to do so by any regulator, court or law enforcement authority; (d) the ManjaPay Account has been inactive for a prolonged period as determined by us (in which case dormant account provisions similar to those in Clause 9 may apply, mutatis mutandis); or (e) for any other reasonable operational or business reason.

PART C — MANJAREWARDS

ABOUT MANJAREWARDS

  1. The ManjaRewards Programme is a loyalty, rebate and member privileges programme operated by the Service Providers under which eligible Card Holders and Users may earn rebates (in the form of Travel Credits) and enjoy member privileges based on their use of the Manja Services. The terms below apply to your participation in ManjaRewards in addition to the other provisions of these Terms.
  2. Participation in ManjaRewards is voluntary and free of charge. However, participation may require you to be a registered Manja Account holder, to have an active ManjaLink Card or ManjaPay Account, and to keep your contact details and Personal Data up to date.

REBATES — ELIGIBILITY AND EARNING

Rebates under the ManjaRewards Programme are calculated on the basis of monthly accumulated qualifying transactions on the ManjaLink Card on eligible routes (which, as at the date of these Terms, include Causeway Link cross-border services and connecting bus services, and such other services as we may designate). Rebate tiers and rates are published on the Website and may be amended from time to time at our discretion in accordance with Clause 23.

Rebates are expressed in Travel Credits (TCr) and are credited to your ManjaLink Card in accordance with the tier structure notified on the Website. As at the date of these Terms, the rebate structure is as follows (subject to change)

  1. Monthly accumulated transactions of RM150.00 to RM199.99: 3 TCr;
  2. Monthly accumulated transactions of RM200.00 to RM249.99: 4 TCr;
  3. Monthly accumulated transactions of RM250.00 to RM299.99: 7 TCr;
  4. Monthly accumulated transactions of RM300.00 and above: 9 TCr.

 

Only transactions that are valid, completed and not reversed, refunded, disputed or charged back will count towards the monthly accumulated transactions for rebate purposes. The Service Providers’ determination of the monthly accumulated transactions and the applicable rebate shall be final and binding, save for manifest error.

REDEMPTION AND EXPIRY OF REBATES

  1. Rebates for a given month are updated and made available for redemption on the fifteenth (15th) day of the following month. Members may redeem their rebates by tapping their ManjaLink Card at any designated self-service kiosk, or by performing a top-up online through the Manja Portal, after the fifteenth (15th) of the relevant month.
  2. Rebates must be redeemed within one (1) month from the date of issue and will expire on the fourteenth (14th) day of the month following the date of issue. Unredeemed rebates will not be credited and will be forfeited automatically without further notice and without any liability on the part of the Service Providers.
  3. Rebates: (a) are not exchangeable for cash; (b) cannot be transferred between ManjaLink Cards, ManjaPay Accounts or members; (c) cannot be combined with other promotions or discounts unless expressly stated; and (d) may not be sold, traded or otherwise commercially exploited.

MEMBER PRIVILEGES

  1. From time to time, we may offer additional member privileges, promotions, gifts, vouchers, discounts or exclusive deals to ManjaRewards members (whether on the Bus Services or in connection with goods and services provided by our partners). Each such privilege or promotion may be subject to its own specific terms and conditions, which will be notified to members through the Website, the LUGO App or other channels.
  2. Member privileges and promotional offers may be modified, withdrawn or suspended at any time at our reasonable discretion. We do not warrant the availability, quality or fitness for purpose of any goods or services provided by third-party partners under member privileges, and your dealings with such partners are at your own risk.

FRAUD, MANIPULATION AND PROGRAMME ABUSE

  1. We reserve the right, in our reasonable discretion, to: (a) decline to award rebates or member privileges; (b) cancel rebates already credited; (c) suspend or terminate ManjaRewards membership; and/or (d) suspend or terminate the relevant Manja Account, where we have reasonable grounds to suspect fraud, abuse, manipulation, breach of these Terms, breach of any applicable law, or transactions that are not bona fide.

PART D — COMMON PROVISIONS

EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY

  1. Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
  2. Subject to Clause 21.1, the Service Providers and the Authorised Agents shall not be liable to you or any third party for any loss, damage, cost, expense, claim or injury (whether direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary, and whether in contract, tort, statute or otherwise) arising in connection with: (a) the issue, top-up or use of (or inability to use) any ManjaLink Card, ManjaLink Reload Card, ManjaPay Account, Travel Credits, rebate or member privilege; (b) any delay, suspension, withdrawal, discontinuance or modification of any Manja Service; (c) any malfunction, defect, unauthorised use, security breach or downtime affecting any Manja Service, the LUGO App or any related system; (d) any upgrade, modification, maintenance or repair of any Manja Service or related system; (e) any act, omission, error, fraud or default of any third party (including any Authorised Agent, telecommunications operator, payment processor, bank, e-wallet operator, or platform provider); (f) any Force Majeure Event; or (g) any other event or circumstance beyond our reasonable control.
  3. Without prejudice to Clauses 21.1 and 21.2, the maximum aggregate liability of the Service Providers and the Authorised Agents to you in respect of any and all claims arising under or in connection with these Terms and the Manja Services in any twelve-month period shall not exceed the total amount of fees and charges paid by you to the Service Providers (excluding Travel Credits) in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or RM500.00, whichever is the lower.
  4. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Service Providers, the Authorised Agents and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents from and against any and all losses, damages, costs, expenses, claims, demands, actions or proceedings (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your breach of these Terms; (b) your breach of any applicable law; (c) your fault, negligence, fraud or wilful misconduct; (d) any unauthorised, unlawful or improper use of the Manja Services by you or any person using your Login Details; or (e) any tampering with, alteration of, or unauthorised access to any ManjaLink Card, ManjaPay Account, Manja Account, LUGO App or any related system.

PERSONAL DATA

  1. The Service Providers will collect, use, store, share and otherwise process your Personal Data in accordance with our Privacy Policy (available at https://manja.my/privacy-policy/), which is incorporated by reference into these Terms and complies with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Malaysia), as amended (including by the Personal Data Protection (Amendment) Act 2024), and any applicable subsidiary legislation, codes of practice and guidelines issued thereunder.
  2. By accepting these Terms, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy, and where required by law, you consent to the collection, use, processing and (where applicable) cross-border transfer of your Personal Data for the purposes described in the Privacy Policy.
  3. You have the right, under and subject to applicable law, to access, correct and (in certain cases) require the portability or erasure of your Personal Data, to withdraw your consent, and to lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority. Please refer to the Privacy Policy for details on how to exercise these rights.

AMENDMENTS

  1. We may, from time to time, in our reasonable discretion, amend, supplement or replace these Terms (or any part of them). Notice of any such amendment will be given through the Website, the LUGO App, the Manja Portal, e-mail, SMS or such other means as we consider appropriate, at least fourteen (14) calendar days before the amendment takes effect (or such other notice period as may be required by applicable law).
  2. Notwithstanding Clause 23.1, we may make amendments with immediate effect and without prior notice where the amendment: (a) is required to comply with applicable law, regulation, court order, regulatory direction or government order; (b) is for security reasons or to prevent fraud or other unlawful activity; or (c) is to the benefit of Users.
  3. Your continued use of any Manja Service after the effective date of an amendment constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms. If you do not accept any amendment, you must cease using the Manja Services and may request closure of your Manja Account in accordance with these Terms.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

  1. All Intellectual Property in and relating to the Manja Services, the Website, the LUGO App, the Manja Portal, the ManjaLink Card, the names and logos “Manja”, “ManjaLink”, “ManjaPay”, “ManjaRewards”, “LUGO”, “Causeway Link”, “Handal Indah” and all related branding, software, content, designs and materials, is and shall remain the property of the Service Providers (or their licensors). No right, title or interest is transferred to you by virtue of these Terms or your use of the Manja Services.
  2. You must not copy, modify, reproduce, distribute, publish, transmit, reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, create derivative works of, or otherwise commercially exploit any part of the Manja Services or related Intellectual Property, except with our prior written consent or as expressly permitted by applicable law.

TERMINATION

  1. We may suspend or terminate your access to any Manja Service, your Manja Account, your ManjaPay Account and/or your ManjaRewards membership, with or without notice, where: (a) you have breached these Terms; (b) we have reasonable grounds to suspect fraud, money-laundering, terrorism financing or other unlawful activity; (c) we are required to do so by any law, regulator, court or law enforcement authority; (d) your account has been inactive for a prolonged period; or (e) for any other reasonable operational or business reason.
  2. Termination of any Manja Service shall not affect any rights or obligations of either party that have accrued prior to termination, nor any provision of these Terms that is by its nature intended to survive termination, including Clauses 6 (Online Account), 21 (Exclusion of Liability and Indemnity), 22 (Personal Data), 24 (Intellectual Property), 28 (Governing Law) and 29 (Dispute Resolution).

FORCE MAJEURE

  1. Neither the Service Providers nor the Authorised Agents shall be liable for any failure or delay in performance of their obligations under these Terms to the extent caused by a Force Majeure Event. The affected party shall use reasonable efforts to mitigate the effects of the Force Majeure Event and to resume performance as soon as reasonably practicable.

MISCELLANEOUS

  1. Partial Invalidity: if any provision of these Terms is or becomes illegal, invalid or unenforceable in any respect under any law, the legality, validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions shall not be affected or impaired.
  2. No Waiver: no failure or delay by the Service Providers in exercising any right or remedy under these Terms shall operate as a waiver of that or any other right or remedy. The rights and remedies provided in these Terms are cumulative and are not exclusive of any rights or remedies provided by law.
  3. Assignment: you may not assign, transfer or sub-contract any of your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign, transfer or sub-contract our rights and obligations under these Terms (in whole or in part) to any third party at any time without your consent.
  4. Third-Party Rights: a person who is not a party to these Terms shall have no right to enforce any of these Terms, save that the Authorised Agents may rely on and enforce any provision of these Terms that benefits them.
  5. Entire Agreement: these Terms (together with the Website Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy and any specific terms applicable to particular Manja Services, promotions or campaigns) constitute the entire agreement between you and the Service Providers in relation to your use of the Manja Services and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, representations and warranties relating to the same.
  6. Language: these Terms are made in English. If we provide a translation of these Terms in any other language, the English version shall prevail in the event of any conflict or inconsistency.
  7. Notices: notices, requests and communications from you to us shall be made via the prescribed channels at https://support.causewaylink.com.my or to the contact details set out in Clause 30. Notices from us to you may be given by any reasonable means, including e-mail, SMS, push notification, in-app messaging, posting on the Website or the LUGO App, or postal mail.

GOVERNING LAW

  1. These Terms and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. The parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia in respect of any dispute, claim or proceeding arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Manja Services.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION

  1. If you have any complaint or dispute in relation to a Manja Service, you should first contact us via https://support.causewaylink.com.my or such other channel as we may notify. We will use reasonable efforts to address and resolve your complaint promptly and fairly.
  2. Where applicable, you may also refer your complaint to the relevant regulator or ombudsman, including (where relevant) Bank Negara Malaysia, the Personal Data Protection Department of Malaysia, or any other competent authority.
